Echo of sun Lyre (2023)

Metal instrument/sculpture of iron and copper with three strings tied in the center. 

The contact microphone amplifies the resonance of touching metal and strings’ vibration like a wired phone. The bowl of copper echoes the sound in the space and the distant voice of conversations.

When the metal is heated by flame, a rainbow of colors and reflections spreads along the flame’s center, accelerating the copper’s oxidation.
